Record number of Husker entrepreneurs compete in 3-2-1 Quick Pitch
A record 113 students from eight colleges at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln recently demonstrated their entrepreneurial, communication and presentation skills at the 16th annual 3-2-1 Quick Pitch competition.

Husker students win $6,000 in inaugural accounting case competition
Nearly 140 University of Nebraska-Lincoln students recently competed in the inaugural Intermediate Accounting II Case Competition. Acting as junior credit analysts, the students worked in groups to prepare a loan analysis and then pitch it in less than eight minutes for the opportunity to win cash prizes totaling $6,000.

Twenty-two student teams in the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's Undergraduate Certificate in Sales Excellence program recently vied for $6,000 in scholarships in the Center for Sales Excellence Team Role-Play Competition, sponsored by NRC Health.

New Venture Competition awards $65,000 to Husker student startups
The University of Nebraska-Lincoln's Center for Entrepreneurship hosted the 37th annual New Venture Competition, a business plan pitch event with $65,000 in funding in prizes, on April 16 and 18. With 48 teams representing nine colleges and 44 majors at the university competing in a bracket format, Eduardo Sicilia Ayala with 2%Football took first place and a $15,000 cash prize.

Husker students win two national accounting competitions in less than year
A team of University of Nebraska-Lincoln accounting students recently won the 22nd annual Deloitte FanTAXtic National Case Study Competition, presenting analysis of a complex, issues-driven business tax case. The win follows the university's top finish in the eighth annual Deloitte National Audit Innovation Campus Challenge in April 2023.

Twenty-three University of Nebraska-Lincoln students participated in the Center for Entrepreneurship's 48-Hour Challenge Feb. 15-17. The event allows student teams of three to six to develop and pitch business ideas for the chance to win cash prizes.

Husker students earn recognition in Creative Nebraska Awards
Twenty-one students from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's College of Journalism and Mass Communications won awards for outstanding creative work during the American Advertising Federation's annual Creative Nebraska Awards on Feb. 23. The students earned a gold award, seven silvers and two special judge's citations.

A record 108 University of Nebraska-Lincoln students recently showed their entrepreneurial, communication and presentation skills at the 15th annual 3-2-1 Quick Pitch competition. Hosted by the Nebraska Center for Entrepreneurship, the event gives Husker students from any college a platform to deliver a three-minute business idea to volunteer judges for the chance to win cash prizes totaling $12,000.

Language software company wins New Venture Competition
Following the bracket-busting excitement of March Madness, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's Center for Entrepreneurship recently hosted its own high-stakes tournament through the New Venture Competition, a business plan pitch contest. More than 40 student teams representing seven colleges at Nebraska competed in a bracket format, with the business Dyslexico taking first place and a $15,000 cash prize.
