Samantha Callahan of Omaha receives University of Nebraska-Lincoln degree

Samantha Rose Callahan of Omaha was among 684 graduates who received degrees from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln during the summer commencement ceremony Aug. 12 at Pinnacle Bank Arena.

Callahan earned a Bachelor of Journalism from the College of Journalism and Mass Communications.

Chancellor Ronnie Green presided over the ceremony, in which undergraduate and graduate degrees were awarded.

Harris Smith, director of the Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film at Nebraska and executive director of the Nebraska Repertory Theatre, delivered the commencement address. Roy J. Long, retired teacher and former Nebraska football player, received an honorary Doctor of Education.
