Laura Rebecca Ashley Simons of Neola Graduates from University of Nebraska-Lincoln

Laura Rebecca Ashley Simons of Neola was among more than 2,800 students who received degrees from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln at commencement exercises May 4 and 5. It was the largest graduating class in UNL history.

Simons received a bachelor of science in forensic science from the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources.

The graduates are from 44 states and 38 countries.

Kwame Dawes, professor of English and Glenna Luschei Editor of the Prairie Schooner at UNL, addressed the May 4 postgraduate ceremony. Gen. C. Robert "Bob" Kehler, commander of the U.S. Strategic Command at Offutt Air Force Base, addressed the May 5 baccalaureate ceremony. Jeffrey Toobin, a staff writer for the New Yorker and senior analyst for CNN, will gave the address at the May 5 College of Law ceremony.
