Derek Kane of Albuquerque chosen as Homecoming royalty finalist at Nebraska

Derek Kane of Albuquerque has been selected as a candidate for Homecoming king at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Kane, a senior fisheries and wildlife major, is the son of John and Allison Kane.

The Homecoming king and queen will be elected by the student body in an online vote Sept. 21. They will be crowned Sept. 23 at halftime of the Nebraska-Rutgers football game, which kicks off at 2:30 p.m. at Memorial Stadium.
