Alexander Mallory of South Sioux City receives UNL degree

Alexander Matthew Mallory of South Sioux City was among nearly 800 graduates who received degrees from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln during the summer all-university commencement ceremony Aug. 13 at Pinnacle Bank Arena.

Mallory earned a bachelor of arts with distinction from the College of Arts and Sciences.

Melanie Simpson, Willa Cather professor of biochemistry at UNL, associate director of the University of Nebraska's Center for Biotechnology and a member of the Fred and Pamela Buffett Cancer Center at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, delivered the commencement address. Chancellor Ronnie Green presided over the ceremony.
